Kickoff

Key considerations: Our brand build involved creating from the ground up and creating a new design system and brand guidelines.

  • We implemented Agile development processes to ensure productivity between the many stakeholders from different companies.

Obsidian Global LLC and Highpoint LLC stakeholders presented the concept of the joint venture, having only flushed out the name- Cirrus Strategies.

Project Management

Our scrum meetings with stakeholders determined the business requirements that our joint team had to fulfill. I created a Jira dashboard to guide our team through completing tasks.

Design Process

After translating business requirements from stakeholders & project management, we started the creative process. I dove into project inspiration, the discovery phase, and researching market trends. We collaborated to create color schemes, a logo, site maps, and wireframe work

Brand Development:  Our ideation process included the creation of color schemes and logos to get a feel of what direction we wanted our brand to go.

Sitemapping Our redesign and methods had to seamlessly incorporate business requirements set by stakeholders.

Wireframing To prepare for scrum meetings, I create low  to high fidelity wireframes in Sketch and XD to present to stakeholders to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.

  • For this 8mo project, we went through 16 sprint-cycles to flush out and revise wireframes.

Final Design

After executing the UI design for the Cirrus website via wireframes, I created high-fidelity Prototypes using the XD prototyping software to create a fully-functioning mock website. This gave stakeholders the ability to test user experience and provide feedback to ensure a user-friendly interface.

Conclusion

This project allowed me to step into a role where I was able to get comfortable leading a team of developers and designers to fulfill the design goals. Working on this project put every design and leadership skill I possess to work.

Success Criteria Using the agile development process, and meeting with stakeholders/clients every 2 weeks was necessary for me to accomplish the final product. â€‹

Overcoming constraints Collaborating with leadership across companies & getting a general consensus between companies with different philosophies greatly extended our timeline & increased the amount of stakeholder-meetings needed. I really honed in on my collaborative & communication skills for this project.
